7/16/2024 – Huntington Beach, CA – Schelin Uldricks & Co. is pleased to announce that it has provided investment banking consulting services for a southeastern U.S. based hotel development firm.  The engagement was focused on providing advice to the general partner on financial structuring, equity valuation, and syndication formation related to the development of a hotel near the entrance of a major Southeastern Conference University.  Schelin Uldricks & Co. was also hired to explore debt financing options for the client.

The sponsorship group owns several sites in the southeastern United States and is in the process of moving forward on new development projects.  The developer was considering recapitalizing the existing equity group in a particular hotel project and providing an exit option for the land investors before the start of vertical construction.  “There are several factors to consider when valuing illiquid investments,” commented Derek Uldricks, managing partner of Schelin Uldricks & Co.  “We have a deep background in real estate development and our role in the engagement was to provide guidance to the sponsor on best practices for valuing the current equity while also advising on the best ways to attract new debt and equity capital to the investment once the developer decides to go vertical.”
