Headquartered in Orange County, CA, Schelin Uldricks & Co. embodies a progressive entrepreneurial culture focused on integrity, transparency, execution, and ingenuity. The founding partners bring over 35 years of collective capital markets experience in investment banking, private equity, and real estate finance. The company offers a broad array of services, including debt and equity placement, M&A, GP advisory, divestitures, and financial restructuring.
The founding partners of the firm, Ethan Schelin and Derek Uldricks, have a long history of collaboration and creativity. Each brings a unique skill set to the table, which allows the partnership to operate beyond the pale of traditional real estate or corporate finance investment banking.
Mr. Schelin has extensive real estate finance experience having originated, advised on, or closed over 80 transactions totaling nearly $2B in collateral value for real estate sponsors and developers across the US. His experience includes arranging capital for virtually all components of a project’s capital stack for both private and institutional clientele. In addition, he has advised on real estate related corporate financing, M&A, and divestitures.
Mr. Uldricks has spent the bulk of his career orchestrating the equity formation of real estate joint ventures and corporate finance M&A transactions through the creation and distribution of SEC Reg D private placements. His experience includes raising over $250MM in equity capital over varying investment strategies that included structured finance/credit, opportunity zones, land banking/development, vertical construction, value add, opportunistic, and corporate growth.

Ethan Schelin, Co-Founder
Mr. Schelin is a Partner and co-founder of Schelin Uldricks & Co. He is responsible for co-managing the origination, placement, and closing of transactions as well as implementing the strategic direction of the firm.
Previously, Mr. Schelin was the President of Virtua Credit Corporation, where he arranged institutional capital for over $1B in real estate projects affiliated with the Virtua Partners Organization. Prior to Virtua, he was a Director for Newport Beach-based Landmark Capital Advisors and Beverly Hills-based Lucent Capital, where he originated, structured and placed debt & equity capital for complex commercial real estate transactions totaling over $750 MM in value. Mr. Schelin has also held positions in acquisitions and asset management during his real estate finance career.

Derek Uldricks, Co-Founder
Mr. Uldricks is a Partner and co-founder of Schelin Uldricks & Co. He is responsible for co-managing the origination, placement and closing of transactions as well as implementing the strategic direction of the firm.
Previously, Mr. Uldricks served as the President of Virtua Capital Management, the equity capital markets group within Scottsdale-based private equity firm Virtua Partners. Here, Mr. Uldricks oversaw all equity capital raising functions for the firm as well as fund management for 22 investment funds covering investment strategies that included structured finance/credit, opportunity zones, land banking/development, vertical construction, value add, and opportunistic. During his tenure, Mr. Uldricks and his team raised over $250MM in equity capital over 57 transactions representing $900MM of collateral value. Prior to Virtua, Mr. Uldricks held Acquisitions and Financial Analysis positions at La Jolla-based Versant Commercial Brokerage and Breakwater Equity Partners.

Adrian Watkins, Senior Managing Director
Mr. Watkins is a Senior Managing Director of Schelin Uldricks & Co. and is based in Dallas, TX. He is responsible for primarily expanding Schelin Uldricks & Co.’s debt origination business throughout the Southern US.
Mr. Watkins has over 28 years of experience within the United States and Canada in the real estate capital markets involving debt and equity investments covering all major property types in all positions of the capital stack. Most recently, Adrian was a Vice President at Trez Capital, one of North America’s largest non-bank commercial real estate lenders and was responsible for originating real estate loans for the company’s US funds. Previously, Adrian spent 16 years at Goldman Sachs in the Real Estate Group of the Merchant Banking Division where he was responsible for sourcing, underwriting and structuring predominantly mezzanine debt and other high-yield investments for the firm’s various credit funds. Throughout his career, Adrian has been responsible for investing over $2 billion in capital on real estate assets valued at over $8.6 billion.
